Title: Marriage records
Post by: sezuk on Monday 07 September 15 19:45 BST (UK)
I've just found an ancestors marriage licence, it doesn't list parents names or witnesses etc, is there a more detailed certificate I can get hold of?

Indiana makes it very hard to get a copy of a marriage certificate.

The Lake County clerk gives an option to order a genealogical marriage record - http://countyclerk.lakecountyil.gov/VitalRecords/Genealogy/Pages/Genealogical-Records-Search.aspx  You might want to ask them about the availability.

Thanks, I've sent an email, see what they say. I need to confirm as there was a family rumor they were never married and Fred's draft WW1 registration dated 6th June (4 days after marriage) says he is single.
