Loosely -

Memory of the war. Out walking, 11th September 1931 at Rethondes where the armistice was signed in 1918.

Great photo.

I'm a bit baffled by the "abz" in the signature though.
Abrazos (hugs) is a standard sign off in Spanish but there's no similar word in French.

Possibly 'Alz' for 'Allez'? That is used at the end of conversations, but doesn't seem quite right for this.

Is it dated Septembre or Novembre?

It's novembre.
I thought the name (?) starts Alz as the loop of the letter l rises up to join the top of the z. (I was taught to write z like that).

No idea at the moment what it means but I feel I should...will have to let the little grey cells churn away in the background  :)

Most of my French friends sign off with Bis (short for bisou - Kiss)

I wondered if it was Alz. An abbreviation of the signatory's Christian name rather than a sentiment.
