Title: William Taylor and Margaret McClay - Salford - Looking for relatives !!
Post by: howesd on Monday 10 August 15 01:20 BST (UK)
Hi All, Interested to learn if anyone has got any family connections to this couple - they were married in 1906 Salford Manchester, had following children:
Agnes Taylor   B: 1905
Mary Taylor   B: 1907
William Taylor   B: 1911
Albert Taylor   B: 1913
Alexander Taylor   B: 1917
Margaret 'Peggy' Taylor   B: 1920
Mona Taylor   B: 1923
Lillian Taylor   B: 1923

Mona Taylor is my link (Mother)  Found the family in 1911 would like to know where William Taylor was between 1913 and 1917,  seems a bit of an 'obvious gap between children Albert and Alex,  did he go to War' -  can't find any records for him in Service/Pension etc.  Might have gone back to Scotland, maybe to enlist etc.  If anyone can shed any light I would be most grateful ... (faobo) TIA Andy Cooper, (Buckingham).

FreeBMD is showing another birth?

December qtr 1914
Salford district     vol 8d, page 117

Taylor, John     Mother's maiden name: McClay

As nearly 70% of the WW1 Service Records were destroyed during a WW2 bombing raid, it's perhaps no surprise you can't find his service record?
Have you looked for a Medal Index Card?
