I have been searching for a marriage record. I have an index only record that the marriage took place in Calton, Glasgow 30 Dec 1859.
JOHN BROWN and JANET MCFEE (variations McPhie McFie etc)
Janet's parents are Duncan McPhie and Christian Cameron
I have been unable to locate this marriage on Scotland's People after several different searches. Can anybody please point me in the right direction. Thank You!

I have found SP indexing to be wrong on a few occasions.
Have you used both SOUNDEX & VARIANTS choices as it should be there ???
If not you can email them to say you have tried everything to no avail & I believe they are very good with such enquiries.

ADDED..........It will not be there in 1859 but 1860 as it took place at the end of the year :P

Hello Jeanne,
'ammack' has beaten me to it. A marriage (birth or death) on 30th December 1859 probably wouldn't be registered until early January 1860. You'll find them the year of registration, not marriage.
Scotlandspeople has a marriage for a John Brown & Janet McFee in Calton District, Glasgow City in 1860. Worth a look.
Regards, Dod.

Thank You so much Kevin, Ammack and Dod, for your responses. Yes Kevin, the index ref I had was from Family Search, and To Ammack and Dod, I have just picked up the record from Scotland's People, with putting the year 1860 in both boxes! Really happy about that, so many thanks to you all for your advice! I've tried many variation ticks on this couple, and at last I now have it! Rootchatters to the rescue yet again! Great stuff!
Cheers
Jeanne 😄
