Hi Wiltshire experts.
To date info and research about the Stone Family of Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire take me back to Jonathan Stone (1767-1817) married Hannah Gladman(1767-1849).
A tenuous thread indicates that his father, JOSEPH STONE (born 1745) married a Martha Baille in Winterslow.
Prior to that JOHN STONE (1705-1766) married Mary Judd in 1736 in Winterslow.
Would anyone be able to confirm if I am on the right tracks of descendants based on the location change.
Jonathan Stone was my4x GF.
MANY THANKS
PAU JONES

Hi,
FreeREG www.freereg.org.uk has Winterslow, Wilts,Marriage Records, 38 in total;
Only Joseph on there;
Joseph STONE to Martha BARBER, 4 Jan 1761
John STONE/Mary JUDD, 6 Oct 1736
JOHN Stone/Mary PARRICK, 20 Nov 1734
No Burials/Baptism in Winterslow on FreeREG yet.
As new records are being added all the time, done by volunteers, it is worth keeping an eye on the Site.
Trish :)
EDIT;
I just looked on FreeREG for your Stones in Herts and noticed this;
MARY Stone, Widow, married Francis THEED, Widower, 23 Sept 1782, St Mary the Virgin, Rickmansworth.

Hi Trish.
Thanks for the reply. I will see how it fits and perhaps continue the thread with you.
You look delighted with the baby. We had our fifth grandchild three weeks ago.

Hi Paul,
I have seen the marriage transcripts for Winterslow and those names listed by "Trish" are there
as well as several other "Stone & Judd" families.
Also the marriage of Joseph Stone is by Licence and the Wilts Mar. Licence Bond CD (ex WiltsFHS)
states;
Joseph Stone, 48, Bac, Shopkeeper, Winterslow to Martha Barber, 24, sp,
Bondsman; William Bacon, Cordwainer, Salisbury
Licence dated 3-1-1761
I couldn't see a reference to a Martha Baille.
There is a Wilts on-line parish clerk at this address which you may find very useful;
http://www.wiltshire-opc.org.uk/genealogy/index.php/parish-directory
Just scroll down to the relevant parish, open it and sometimes there are transcripts listed which you can view.
