Seeking a baptism date for Thomas Burnside c.1813-1894.
From the census returns Thomas was born in Leeds, Yorkshire circa 1813 and there are sufficient relational clues to confirm that his parents were John & Euphemia/Euphance Burnside. John Burnside was a travelling potter and as a result the family appears to have moved around frequently. Baptisms of other siblings occurred at Newbottle in Co. Durham, Richmond and Leeds in Yorkshire and Hexham in Northumberland, but I haven't found one for Thomas in the right timeframe
I would also be grateful for any information showing how Lavinia Burnside connects to this family (possibly a sibling of Thomas).

A bit earlier than your timeframe but there is a baptism in Leeds of Thomas son of John Burnside of Newbottle, County of Durham, born 21 August 1808 baptised 16 Oct 1808

Many thanks. The extra details (ie of Newbottle which isn't shown on FamilySearch) confirms that it is the correct John Burnside, but this Thomas Burnside was buried at Hexham on the same day that his sister Isabella was baptised (11 Apr 1811).
PS. I don't suppose you have any extra detail for John's marriage at St Peter's, Leeds on 2 Aug 1806?

There is a baptism on 13th June 1813 for a Thomas Bonaside to John and Effy of Quarry Hill, Leeds.
John is down as a labourer.

Many thanks again. I've always thought that this is the correct marriage as I think her name was Euphemia Urwin, so Effie could well be a short version. Shopkeeper is not quite what I was expecting though! Might have to give it some thought.

Fantastic. That could be just what I'm looking for. Which parish is this record from? Is it also St Peter's?

Ok, thanks. Do you mind me asking which resource you found the baptism in?

Just checked and there is also a Susanna Burniston baptised 1810 daughter of John, Quarry Hill - does this help rule Thomas 1812 out?

I see there is an 1855 death for a Thomas Burniston of Leeds, Yks so perhaps the similarity of names is just coincidental.

Thank you. I always like to note down a source, because I'd never remember otherwise.
