Title: Sarah Ann Parkin
Post by: cfbrown459 on Sunday 02 August 15 20:17 BST (UK)
Hello and hope someone maybe able to help here.  I am looking for details of the family of Sarah Ann Parkin.  I know that Sarah Ann Parkin was born around 1851 where she was born in either Bradfield, Oughtibridge or Ecclesfield Yorkshire.  I have found her baptism record on 15 Jun 1856 at Wadsley Ecclesfield where she was baptised at the same time as her sister Mary.  Her parents names I believe are John Parkin and Martha.  From Sarah's marriage certificate on 21 August 1870 at St Philips Church where her husbands name is George Nortcliffe and Sarah's father was John Parkin.  What I can not work out is when Sarah was actually born and finding her birth certificate.  I think once I have that I might then be able to find her death certificate.  Can anyone help in getting me to achieve this.  I am happy to talk to anyone with regard to any other members of the family as well.

Thank you
Claire

The parish of Ecclesfield was in the Registration District of Wortley.
So this must be a possibility?

September qtr 1851
Wortley district     vol 22, page 796

Parkin, Sarah Ann

Also:
March qtr 1850
Wortley district     vol 22, page 731 or 751 (image of original is unclear!)

Parkin, Sarah Ann

GenUKI has this to say:

"BRADFIELD, (or High and Low Bradfield), in the parish of Ecclesfield, upper-division of Strafforth and Tickhill, liberty of Hallamshire; 6 miles NW. of Sheffield, 9 from Penistone."

"OUGHTIBRIDGE, in the township of Bradfield, and parish of Ecclesfield, 4 miles NW. of Sheffield, 9 from Penistone."

Thank you for the information provided so far.  I didn't know about Sarah and George's burial so that looks interesting and I also was not sure about boundaries so that has cleared a bit up for me.  I am going to take an assumption that Sarah was born in Wortley in 1851 and with this in mind will order the birth certificate hopefully we are all right.  Thank you all. Claire

Hi Clare, I'm looking into the same family and your tree on My Heritage has shown up with matches to mine.
May i ask how you are related to the Nortcliffe family? George and Sarah were my Great-Great-Great Grandparents.
All the best
Chelsea
