Hi
Is there any family from Ballywalter or County Down who may have a family connection to Private 18272 JOHN MCDOWELL he was a native of Ballywalter and is parents were William and Elizabeth. He joined the army in 1914 and was medically discharge from Clandeboye Camp on the 2nd February 1915 suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. He did not any time re-enlist and he is commemorated on the Ballywalter War Mememorial. Irish BMD shows a John McDowell aged 19 having died in the quarter April-June 1915 registered at Newtownards. I am trying to establish what happened to him.
many regards
Alf

You can view the certificate on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

(You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2 to a view a certificate).
