Hi

1881 census record says Tipton, Staffordshire.
-
1891 - I've found a 42yr old Sarah James b Sedgeley with a son John E aged 18 b Tipton living at 87 High St Sedgeley. Sarah is shown as married but no hubby in household.

Hi
Thank you can you find them in 1901? I wonder where Edward was or if he had passed away
-
Hi
Just checked BMD can't see any between 1881 and 1891
-
Family Search has a birth for John Evan James in 1873 Dudley RD which is the RD for Tipton - I had hoped it would be John Edward.
However - 1881 only has one match for a John James with a mother Sarah and that's the entry you already have
There are 2 marriages in 1900 on freebmd - John Evans James and John Ernest James - both in the Dudley RD

Hi

Thank you for your help :)

There is a public tree on Ancestry which shows Edward's death as January 1899 in Aston Warwickshire but the source is just freebmd
-
In the 1901 census there is a John James b Tipton born abt 1875 living in Tipton, 20 Hock St, with his wife Martha and 3 children. Marriage John James and Martha Wilde, Dudley RD, Q3 1896.
If this is Edward and Sarahs son, they are not with him ...
