Hello Audrey -

Where do you get your information?  My grandfather, HENRY DIXON was from County Donegal, but my grandmother, CASSIE ELLIOTT, was from Fermanagh.  THANKS! - Jane

I have actually met both of my grandparents' families on two trips to Ireland and one to England.  Henry Dixon was born in 1873 in Ballintra, Co. Donegal to Robert Dixon and Margaret Campbell.  Catherine (Cassie) Elliott was born in 1881 in Drumawark, Co. Fermanagh (near Pettigo) to John Elliott and Catherine Hilliard.  They met and married in New York City.

I have found much information on these two famlies already.  But I am wondering what information you have prior to the 1901 Census.

Thanks again!  - Jane

Hiya Kim,

I had a look at the 1912 Ulster Covenant.

There were twelve Littles listed in Tempo but there was no Thomas and no Rattoran.

Hello Kim,

The townland is probably Ratoran.

Townland  Acres   County         Barony   Civil Parish        PLU       Province
Ratoran      587  Fermanagh   Tirkennedy Enniskillen     Enniskillen    Ulster

You asked about the meaning of CI in your message Friday 22nd July 05 ... as you say that's probably the religion  ... it's Church of Ireland. There's a C of I and graveyard in Tempo but I haven't been able to find the church online. All I can find on the Church of Ireland (Anglican)- addresses on the list of C of I churches in the diocese of Clogher  is  Tempo  & Clabby, St. Margaret  (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cotyroneireland/churchrecord/CofI%20adressess.html) but the Rectory is at Clabby, Fivemiletown. I've sent a message to a person I know who lives in Tempo to see if I can get further information.

My contact in Tempo is on holiday for two weeks. He sent me a message saying he'll look into this when he returns. I'll post later in the month when I receive his reply.

Christopher
