Hi
This is what I can find on Tax records for the Apprenticeship, not sure if you already have it.
Henry Sparke and Edm.Pearse Banfill of Clifton Dartmouth harness (Co Devon shipwrights )added above  took on apprentices Hen.Hind and John Prout.
The firm was called Henry Sparke and Co.
Tax paid 17.2.1776

The last letter of Hin- could be an elaborate e but to me it looks like d.

Hi
Thank you so much for the information. the ancestor I am tracing is Henry Hine who was a shipwright born in Stoke Gabriel and lived and married in Dartmouth. so the dates etc are about right. as for the spelling , our surname if often mis-spelt and has changed to a "Y" over the years.

Thank you for your help.
