I've just started writing up about the ones I've been able to build up a big picture of and I wondered if anyone else has shone a spotlight on an ancestor that they can put a link up to?
Mine available so far for general perusal are George Goodall Dainty (1828 -1877) and Private John M'Camley (1829 - 1891) at http://shipskitty.blogspot.co.uk/
After all, a man's not dead while his name is still spoken! :)

Well done you, thoroughly enjoyed that :)

I must have a stack of ancestor biographies which I did in Word and printed off, with images, everything.

I started a blog dedicated to my family research at the start of the year. A number of my blog posts are biographies of some of my more interesting direct ancestors. Here are a few of my favourite posts.
http://intertwiningbranchesfh.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/a-grand-old-man.html
- My first ever blog post on my 2x Great Grandfather, Adam Storey.
http://intertwiningbranchesfh.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/a-most-genial-hostess.html
- A post on my 3x Great Grandmother Margery Isabella Turnbull (Barrass) who ran a pub for a number of years.

- A post on my 4x Great Grandfather Bertram McKeith AKA Barty Keith, who was a local character.
A lot of my other blog posts are merely tidbits of things I've found on my other ancestors, or other family members.

Linnet, I really enjoyed that blog post, well done. It has inspired me to put more "colour" into my own writing.

I intend to get round to it once I've got sufficient real meat on the bones.
I'll read those above now...cheers!

After my father's parents died in the 1970's, my mum collected and saved 3 suitcases of photos & negatives most of which were black & white, undated, un-named, although we do know who is who in the majority. At the time they were destined for the bin, my father and his sisters didn't want them.
I've now started a closed facebook page (sorry) for the family who, 40 years later, are now showing an interest in them. I've also added snippets of newspaper & magazine articles.
So not a blog but another way of sharing.

I've started writing up some of my ancestors and brick walls in blog posts - it's by far the best way I've found of making contact with distant cousins. This post alone has led to contacts with four different people.

I did read the blog fully and yes, it is very interesting, putting flesh on the bones of your ancestors.
It has inspired me to do a blog on some of my ancestors and their siblings.
