Hi all
If anyone is going to St. Mary's in Dodleston at some point, I would appreciate it if the register entry for the death of Henry Ellis aged 67 (died 4 Feb 1934, interred 7 Feb 1934) could be looked up and recounted.
He is my paternal GGF but is proving to be a classic brick wall in terms of his prior family history.
I have census (from 1901) and wedding certificate data for him, but other than knowing that his father was John Ellis and that he purports to have been born in Rossett (Denbighshire) that's about it - so any info from the Parish register would be greatly appreciated.
I did post requests for information in the welsh forum a couple of years ago but despite some sterling work from members here we failed to find out a great deal more than I already knew - hence I'm trying this new angle having discovered the location of his burial.
thanks and regards
Dave

Hi
His burial info will not give you the type of info you are looking for. It will just give his age, date of death/burial and plot number
It will not record his parentage or birthplace

Hello Jetdragon
At Chester Record Office there is a book Memorial Inscription in the Graveyard, St Mary's, Dodleston, produced by Dodleston Local History Group, compiled 1996.
At a glance I could only note:
Eliza Ellis 1905
Elizabeth 1929
George 1937
John 1905
There is a note in the book, if you have any enquiries re St Mary's, Dodleston Memorial Inscriptions please contact:
Langdale
Pulford Lane

Hope this is of help?
