Hello
I am looking to confirm that Alice Hutchings married William Cosens hopefully before 1835.
Alice was born about 1811 in Clayhidon.
William was born about 1809 Ottery St Mary.
The first two children Sarah 1835 and Mary Ann b 1837 born Pitminster, baptised at Bible Christians, Kings Brompton, Somerset. The rest of children obtained from census.
Any details on their respective parents would be appreciated.
thanks Jane
Ps Should I have put this on Somerset board?

Thank you for the confirmation of marriage date.
Do you know if it was in "normal" church or with the Bible Christians?
Are there any details of their parents?
Jane

In my Microfiche copy of Clayhidon PR4 >> Baptism 1809 July 7 John and Alice, children of Jacob and Susannah Hutchings
Jacob, a widower married Susannah Warren, spinster at Clayhidon 26 Aug 1808 (Jacob signs while Susannah makes her mark)
and interestingly, Jacob junior marries Sarah Warren on 28 June 1814. Both make their mark. And they are both witness to the last marriage that took place immediately before theirs. And there is another Warren / Hutchings marriage in 1816.
This Jacob was baptised as an adult July 4 1813, father Jacob and mother ?Meleanor? ???
and Jacob senior and new wife Susannah baptise a daughter Susannah 4 June 1813
I haven't been able to find Jacob's first marriage :(
Hutchings / Hutchins is a common name in Clayhidon, going back through all the generations in these registers.
All Clayhidon marriages 1754 to 1837 have been transcribed by Devon Family History Soc and are searchable on findmypast, but without images. If you are interested you are able to purchase copies of their copy of the PR pages from DFHS for a small fee.
Salute,
Janelle
