Hi
I know Whittington, Shropshire [x roads A5/A495], but apparently there is a Whittington Moor in Derbyshire.
If so could anyone tell me where it is please and what registration district [Births etc] it would have come under back in 1870-80?
Many thanks

We drive through Wittington Moor when we drive from Lincoln to Cheshire.
We go through Staverley, Wittington Moor, Cutthorpe and drop down into Baslow. Chesterfield is on the edge of Wittington Moor. It's a lovely little place.

Some of my family used to stop in whittington moor. some are even buried there. They would come back every winter to the pottery factories and stock up with the stoneware pots, then come the spring off they would go down the west coast till they got to wales. Selling all the pots as they went. They seemed to go back to the same place everytime a road called Foundry street. There were apparently a lot of pottery factories in whittington.
