Trying to find any of the descendants of this couple who were born in Glasgow in the late 1890's. I think her nickname may have been Polly.

Hi niknak, have you tried IGI Family search?
Were john and mary both born around 1890?
Thanks
Paul

Mary Thompson Salmon was born in 1897 in Kelvin, Glasgow. I dont know when John Rhind was born, presumably around the same time. I cant find them on the IGI.

Hi ,
Scotlandspeople has a marriage for a John Rhind / Mary Thompson Salmon 1924 Kelvin Lanark.
There is also a death for a Mary Thompson Rhind(other surname Salmon) 1979 Glasgow Lanark , born c1897.

Thanks for this - is there any mention of any children they may have had?

Births after 1914 are not available to view online so it's difficult to find children if you don't have further information.
You can search the death index(after 1973) using mothers maiden surname.
Can't see any Rhind deaths in Scotland with mother's name as Salmon :-\

Not surprising.
The IGI is a fantastic finding aid until 1874, because it indexes most (but not all) of the births/baptisms and banns/marriages in the Church of Scotland registers to 1854 and the statutory civil registers from 1855 to 1874. After that, it is close to useless because it only indexes people in submitted trees, and some births and marriages from 1881 and 1891.
The only comprehensive source of information about people in Scotland born or married later than 1874 is www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
