These are my great grandparents and I know very little about them. Arthur resided in Milton Kent &
Caroline at Southbank? at time of marriage at The parish church of Eston in the county of YORK. I have the original marriage certificate but because of age it is faded. Marriage was by licence on Oct 21st 1897. Their only child Lilian Agnes was born 12/9/1899 (Rose Villa, Well Winch Rd Milton) I have been unable to locate this house/road on any map. Caroline died at childbirth. I would be grateful for any further information. Thank you.

Well Winch Road still exists!
It is in Milton Regis, which is now part of Sittingbourne, Kent.
You can find it on Google Maps.
Milton has had former names of Milton Regis, Milton-next-Sittingbourne, Milton Royal, Middleton, Midletun and Middletune.
Not to be confused with Milton-next-Gravesend!
Today Milton Regis is a suburb of Sittingbourne although this has not always been the case, Milton Regis has the older and richer history. Until around 1800 Sittingbourne was a smaller hamlet and under the control of the Manor of Milton Regis.

Seems Arthur was born in Durham.

If you are wanting help tracing Arthur and Caroline further back then do let us have all the details from the marriage cert , ie Carolines surname, names amd occupations of both fathers, age at marriage etc.
