Fr Duffy married my great grand parents in Corlygorm, Monaghan in December 1861 and gave them a letter of introduction to his nephew, Gavan Duffy (later Sir). The letter was to give them a help along in Australia where the nephew was a member of parliament. Does anyone have more information about this Duffy family, in particular Fr Duffy? Just trying to get more of a sense of the times and close associates of the family. :)With thanks

There is an article about Father James Duffy on page 118-119 of Clogher Record Vol 7, Number 1 (1969). The article was compiled by Frank Duffy in 1943. It is about his time in the parish of Muckno but gives details of his other parishes and some references to other articles.
I was able to access the article on www.jstor.org
I hope that this is the same Father Duffy you are investigating.

Thank you! I'm having trouble accessing the article but will keep trying ;) Charles Gavan Duffy does have a lot of information I agree.

If you register with JSTOR you can get the old issue of Clogher Record which should have write ups on the Duffys

As hallmark says you do have to register. This is free and when you are registered you can search for the article. Once you find it you have to save it to your shelf before you are able to read it all. You are allowed up to three articles on your shelf at a time. You can pay for access to additional articles. I think that free access is also available through libraries and institutions.
I did find the process a bit cumbersome but that probably stems from my lack of usage of this site rather than from the fact that it is very complicated.
Good luck with your efforts. I think that a bit of persistence should pay off.
