Title: 1930 census How to search using a particular address.
Post by: kate57 on Monday 29 June 15 12:30 BST (UK)
I am wanting to look up who was living at 2420 South Lasalle St. Chicago in 1930. Does anyone know if that is possible and how would I do it. Thank you for any advice.

There's a link to the 1928-1929 criss-cross directories which lists the residents by street address here - http://www.newberry.org/chicago-genealogy

As best I can tell, 2414-24 S. La Salle was a Buick Motor Company warehouse at that time.

Like Sandra mentioned, if you want to find out the enumeration district for an address in each census, you can use - http://www.stevemorse.org/census/unified.html

Thank you Sandra and Shellyesq. I had never heard of these web sites. I am always amazed that when  I post queries on this site when I hit a brick wall that folk take the time out to help.
I will pay it forward.
