Hello
I am trying to confirm the marriage and location for George Hudson and Mary Ann Smart Oct -Dec 1854 West Bromwich.

Hi
George Hudson and Mary Ann Smart Oct -Dec 1854 West Bromwich.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2D3V-6TP
Surname is Hutson - not Hudson per freebmd and websites above and below
See www.westmidlandsbmd.org.uk for location of marriage

Thank you very much for your assistance.
I have George and Mary Ann with there young family on the 1871 census at Hinders Lane, Gloucestershire. The surname obviously at times recorded as Hudson and Hutson.
On the 1871 census George is recorded as been born 1835 at Dudley. George was killed in 1878 so its difficult to confirm year and location on any other documentation.
Mary Ann Hudson/ Carlin (Nee Smart) was recorded on census as born 1837 - 1839 in Dudley also up to 1911 census in Cornforth, County Durham.
It would seem the next step is to purchase the marriage certificate for them.
I am possibly visiting Brierley Hill in July would anyone suggest a visit to the Dudley Archive's Office? Apologies I don't know the local area or where would prove to be the best research location whilst visiting appreciate any suggestions please.
Thanking you again.

The marriage certificate may not give you much more information early ones didn't include fathers and just gave the age as 'Full'

early ones didn't include fathers and just gave the age as 'Full'
Marriage was 1854. Whilst age may be shown as "full" fathers names were included on marriage certs from 1.7.1837

Hello
After a few frantic replies to all...I am taking stock now.
I am leaving Leighton Buzzard and travelling to Brierley Hill in the morning.
Would all my educated friends who have assisted me suggest a visit to Dudley Record Office? I have a week to get some research done in the area, with a few non history trips planned though you have a fantastic area.
Or to St Thomas Church? I am frantically looking at all that has been suggested and trying to work out an action plan....don't multi task I am sure my female friends who have assisted me regarding this to date are far much better ha ha.
Listen to any advice please.
Thanks again for all your help.
Regards
Andy
