Good morning,
Could someone help me with additional information regarding Abraham Mainard/Maynard born ca. 1652, Fletching. I would love to know who his parents were.
Thank you,
Hope

There are various entries for baptisms for a child of that name in the Sussex Family History Group online records but none at that time. Who did he marry? Have you looked at www.theweald.org ? That covers the Fletching area.

Thank you very much, I will be sure to check out the website.
Sincerely,
Hope

Do we assume this is connected to the marriage of William Maynard and Ruth Tompsett in 1784? Witnesses were Richd Marten and Susanna Roose.
The Sussex Marriage Index does not have a suitable James to Elizabeth marriage. The only one is in 1743 in Eastbourne to Elizabeth Rabson (both widowed) so a bit early really, though one to keep on the back burner maybe?
Henry Tomset married Elizabeth Langridge 14 April 1757 at Chailey. botp.

Maybe not connected but there is a burial for Ruth Maynard aged 82 in 1843 at Wivelsfield - not far from Chailey. Also William age 72 in 1833 and one in 1808 - no age given.
Have you found the family in 1841? It does look as if Ruth may be living with their son Henry, baptised at Wivelsfield in 1786.

Not directly related to your Henry search but while checking out the surname Tomset (and variations) in Sussex, spotted the following -
THE NINTH REPORT OF THE SOCIETY FOR BETTERING AND IMPROVING THE COMFORTS OF THE POOR - published 1799
Extract from an account of the REWARDS given by the SUSSEX AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY to the industrious and deserving poor
