Title: Elizabeth Curd - 1796
Post by: Alan19 on Monday 15 June 15 11:17 BST (UK)
I am trying to trace Elizabeth Curd born 1796 in Sussex. She was possibly not baptised until 1812 in Peasmarsh. She was buried also in Peasmarsh in 1823 having first married John Morgan (Murgin).
Prior to this marriage she appears to have had 5 children to unknown father(s), Martha 1811, James 1815, Thomas 1816, Mary Murphy 1818 and Stephen 1819. The only possibilitiy I have come up with is Elizabeth from Fletching but have been unable to find a connection. Elizabeth was a servant so it is entirely possible that se may have moved for work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There was an Elizabeth Harriet Curd born 1796 who was buried in Fletching on 29th August 1871 aged 75. You'd need to rule out that she wasn't the one baptised there.

There is a baptism for Elizabeth Curd 25 June 1812 Peasmarsh daughter of James & Martha
Elizabeth was described as of riper years but as her parents were named in the register it suggests that she was still not of adult age and that a DOB of 1796 is possible.

James married Martha Stonestreet 9 January 1789 at Rye. James described as a widower, both sojourners.
James  was previously married to Sarah Welsted 23 october 1763 at Rye

Hope this helps
