Was logged into ancestry today but now the screen has disappeared and all I get is
"We were not able to sign you in with that combination of username/email and password"
Anyone else got these gremlins today ?

I was logged on about ten minutes ago with no problem, signed out and went back to check something, and got the same message as you.

Even if you're logged in, the site isn't working. :-\
There have been a number of posts on their Facebook page about it. Someone has said isn't it the anniversary of last year's DDoS attack? :-X
-
I usually stay logged in, but for the last few days I have had to keep logging in again, now I am getting the same message as you.

Ancestry have admitted on Facebook they have a problem but haven't said exactly what.
-

I have been having this problem as well, I was beginning to think it was me :) It won't let me in now though I was in earlier today

I've been having that problem for several weeks, also found that it's been resetting all my search settings too, which suggests they had issues with site cookies. Others have been reporting it on Facebook but ancestry insisted it was the individual's PC causing the problem (their ususal claim unless there are a massive lot of complaints about it). Interestingly the last couple of days its actually been working albut OK. :-\ I didn't have to login this morning but when I found I couldn't download an image, I tried it on Firefox and it wouldn't let me login either.

This has been happening to me also for several weeks now thought it was because I was staying logged in ...Have also noticed when I have been viewing tree's a message at the top saying there is a problem with your e-mail address ? thought it was a scam ???

Looks like it is up and running.

No that's been happening intermittently for several months. If ancestry gets a bounceback from someone's email address, they insist you confirm your email address. When I initially had the email, they said it was my email provider that had the issue but its happened to me several times and to quite a few others, even though I've not had any issues with other emails. I think it could be something to do with the number or type of emails they are sending out and various ISPs (as my ISP provides my email) or other email providers' systems are viewing ancestry's emails as SPAM. Of course, ancestry won't consider this as the issue ....

Still can't view images, still getting Error 500. The site search is working though.
-
Spoke to soon about the site search ....

I get a red exclamation thingy that pops up, will leave Ancestry for the night and hope all is well with it in the morning.

I've been getting in, but then various things have been going wrong - records that I have saved to tree are popping up as new, it's switching what tree I'm working in randomly, and it's just operating REALLY slowly.
-
Seems to be working OK now, can view images and the download function is working now too.
-
Yes working fine for me also fingers crossed ;D ;D
-
Could not get in until I changed password (reluctantly) - for some time could not get promised e.mail notifying change.

Most things seem to be working alright for me now, except on every tree no profiles are showing for the tree owner, also if I go to my messages they are there but will not open. Obviously there are still glitches to be sorted.

Half an hour after accessing as always, I changed computers and tried to get in again.
I was asked whether I wanted a free trial. When I entered my user Name and Password, I was told my credentials were invalid!! I had 2 emails from them yesterday informing me of "hints" and a private message.
I tried it out a while later and was able to assess as always.
I like Ancestry. It has helped me enormously with building my Tree but >Oh! their "manners towards the paying public", i.e. long time subscribers leaves much to be desired :o

I haven't been able to use their private messaging for a while now. They say it's because I'm using Vista, an unsupported browser or something like that....I don't understand as my husband takes care of all that and I don't have trouble with other sites.
Yes, their Customer Service is dreadful!!
