Bessie Cottam Creasy (born abt. 1911) daughter of Francis Rowland Creasy of the Nelson area, has her engagement published in the Times of London 22 January 1937. Her husband to be is Richard Gordon Duff Little (died 21 July 1979) also of the Nelson area. No notice of the marriage was published in the Times. Is there any evidence of the marriage either official or in newspapers in the area to confirm they ever married? There is no reason they should have married in a place other than locally. He had ties to Lower Moultere. Father E.C. Little.

Hi Barryd,
Yes, they married in 1937. But my resource doesn't provide locations of marriages, sorry.
Perhaps try the local museum or family history society.

Hi,
Do you know of the NZ National Library web site?
It has a photo album relating to the Little Family [Little Album 5]
The dates of 1915 - 1979 came up when I keyed in the name of Richard Gordon Duff Little on a Google search.
Not related to your question though
Regards Crowsfeet

Marriage believed to have taken place at Stoke (a suburb these days of Nelson, NZ. on 1 June 1937. Were Bessie's parents from England? Sometimes family notices were copied to country/city of origin.
