Hi,
Re baptism of Sarah Elder d/o George and Sarah Elder 25 Nov 1748 at Thasslon. [Family Search]
Thasslon apparently doesn`t exist so has anyone a suggestion re the likely place name please ?
Thanks Jay.

Is it definitely an A or could it be Thurston?

I thought the same
Looking at children baptised in Thasson - there is this one with parents Francis and Sarah Corksedge https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:JQDJ-6RF who have a later possible child bapt in Thurston https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NVGN-MMZ

Is she the one who married Robert Garwood? If so Felsham is a possibility.
Robert Garwood

I would say Thurston too. A Sarah Elder married a Thomas Miller 17/12/1750 Suffolk (familysearch) - no actual place shown but FindMyPast has the marriage from Boyds Index and this states the marriage took place at Thurston.
So, definitely Elder's in the parish at the time - as no other children born to George and Sarah there I wonder if he died and his wife remarried (or indeed it may have been a sister of his).

Many thanks for your helpful suggestions re Thasslon
I`d wondered at first if Thasslon was one of those strange place name pronunciations bearing no relation to the spelling.
Thurston is in the area where it seems likely she had family ties.

There is also Thurleston on the edge of Ipwich now consumed by the the parish of Whiton with Thurleston and Akenham.

Thankyou for your suggestion re Thurleston.
Sarah`s first child was born at Troston...
Hmm..... yet another possibility ?

Troston is just down the road from where I work in Honington :)
