Title: Lewis S Tatham disappeared after marriage in 1881
Post by: Alders on Friday 29 May 15 09:41 BST (UK)
Hello i wonder if you could help me find this chap after 1881
Lewis Strickland Tanner b 1854 Huddersfield to Thomas Tatham & Sophia Hornblower
I can find him on the 1861,71 & 1881 census returns and can see that he got married in Apr/May/Jun 1881 in Nottingham to either Mary Helena Allsop or Rosehannah Yarnell, i can not figure out which nor can i pick any of them up after. He as far as i can tell did not work but lived off a stipend from the family.
I thought he may have moved abroad as there was a passenger list record but the dates do not match. http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=721402.msg5652671#msg5652671

Hope you can help

J

There is a listing showing as Wis Strickland Tatham as an unassisted emigration to New South Wales Australia but to access the record you need worldwide ancestry which unfortunatelu I don't have.  Perhaps someone else can assist you.

That NSW shipping record is from October 1868. Lewis Strickland Tatham was a crew member: an apprentice seaman aged 15 on the Marmion from Liverpool.

Wow, i knew he had been there as a 15 yr old, he was sent to gaol for 6 wks as he tried to abscond. Wonder if this is a huge coincidence?
Thank you
