Hi,
I'm trying to trace Hannah Greenwood who was living in Chester around 1861 and was born in approx. 1844. I think her parents were Thomas and Isabella Greenwood and she had a brother called John. She had a daughter, Isabella, born in Chester 1863, died 1864.
Thanks!

The family are living at Handbridge, Chester on the 1851 Census.Thomas was born 1801 Liverpool and Occupation is Anchor Smith. Isabella born 1801 Durham. Brother Robert born 1836 Liverpool and sister Elizabeth born 1839 Liverpool. Hannah was also born in Liverpool.
Hope this helps with your search,
Kind regards,
Ellen

Thanks very much, Ellen, that's brilliant. I don't suppose you can find out Thomas's father at all? I'm trying hard to get the Greenwoods back to Yorkshire where the name started, so this might be the last piece in the jigsaw! Thanks again for your speedy response.

Hi Alibear
Not sure if you already have it but found a newspaper report regarding Isabella jnr's death....sad story :(
Interesting that at Overleigh Cemetery records, Isabella is described as "parents unknown" rather than illigitimate....also appears Hannah had another daughter, Margaret 1865-1866 & possible son Joseph 1874-1874........
Sarah :)

Hi Sarah, Yes just came across it today. I think she also had a son in 1871 called John that was brought up by Mary and John Greenwood (from the article) as theirs. He's my gr. Grandfather. His birth certificate say his mother was Ann, who I've never been able to trace ( no father), but i'm now guessing that was Hannah.... thank you.
