Hi
Freebmd or Family Search is the place to look for that information. Possible entry in 1882

Thanks Carole W
Will try and get to terms with it OK?
Thanks for pointing me in the "Wright" direction.
Zoolane.
In the meantime, if anyone has been researching the Wrights, then would they kindly assist?

Have you checked for him on any Welsh census from 1891-1911
The Family Search entry gives you his wife's name ( Matilda Meaking/Making) plus date of marriage
-
Edwin Payton Wright married Matilda Making 13 Aug 1882, Conway.
then than man's son (of the same name) Edwin Payton Wright married
Winifred Dorothy Labrum on 7th March, 1911 Warminster.

Does sound like this family is confusing (there is a 1st cousin also called Edwin Payton Wright)

Looking at online trees there seems to have been a mistake made - there were in fact 2 Edwin's born a year apart:
Edwin Payton Wright b.1862 Aston (birth index shows Edwin Paynton Wright), Warwickshire, bp.10/8/1863 son of John Turner Wright and wife Mary Harriet - this is the one who married Matilda Meaking 13/8/1882 Llandudno, Caernarvonshire. They had a son Edwin Payton Wright b.1882 Birmingham - Edwin senior died 3/8/1889 (will index shows his brother John Turner Wright, the younger, was his sole executor. Edwin senior Rope Mftr. (as was his brother). In 1891 his widow Matilda and son Edwin are visitors in Lancashire.
Edwin Payton Francis Wright b.30/10/1863, bp.2/12/1863 St. Peter Regent Square, Camden, son of Edwin Payton Wright and wife Amy. This Edwin Payton Wright was b.14/10/1828, bp.26/2/1834 St. Philip, Birmingham, son of William and Ann. EPW married (1) Mariana Augusta Turner 17/2/1849 Aston and on 7/3/1861 he remarried (2) Amy Dollman at St. Pancras. (First wife died in 1859 St. Pancras). EPW died in 1873 - in 1881 his widow Amy is in Paddington with 3 children: Edwin P. (transcribed as B.) 17 Articled Clerk (Law), Edgar T. 15 and Katherine H. 11. By 1891 Amy has remarried and only her daughter is with her.
Can find no trace of Edwin Payton Francis Wright b.1863 and his brother Edgar Thomas Wright b.1866, both born in St. Pancras, after 1881. No sign of them in census after 1881 and no death entries for them in the UK. I wondered if the pair of them emigrated somewhere before 1891 and EPFW did!.
Ancestry shows that an Edwin Payton Francis Wright applied for naturalization in Pennsylvania, USA on 13/11/1893. In 1900 he is living in Knoxville, Allegheny, Pennsylvania:
Edwin P. Wright 36 (born Oct.1863 England) Attorney at Law - emigrated 1881.
Flora S. Wright 34 born Massachusetts
Francis D. Wright 4 born Pennsylvania
Edwin and Flora are shown as having been married 7 years and presumably married in US - can't see them after 1900 census though.

Have not got the Information you have provided,,,will fill in a lot of holes...Thank you
Zoolane
P.S. Still Researching the Wrights!!!!!!!

Is it definitely the Edwin Payton Francis Wright b.1863 Pancras that you are interested in and not the Edwin Payton Wright b.1862 Aston, Warwickshire, d.1889 who married Matilda Meaking in 1882?
Have found out a bit more about EPFW's family which is rather interesting but don't want to type it out if it was the other one you are connected to.

Hi Annette...
Sorry for the delay in answering your question....Family get in the way!!!!!
Anyway, to answer your question, it is the EP Wright who married Matilda MAKING ( Name confirmed by another source)
Any Information would be greatly appreciated.
EPF Wright is another issue which I am still trying to sort out....Still part of the Wright Family but a little bit later down the line.

Right, won't have to do too much typing now.
Quite simply, if your man is the Edwin Payton Wright who married Matilda Making/Meaking 13/8/1882 Llandudno, Conway, Caernarvenshire he is not Edwin Payton Francis Wright b.1863 St Pancras as the heading on this topic!!
As already detailed earlier, your man was b.1862 and baptised 10/8/1863 Bordesley, Warwickshire, son of John Turner Wright and wife Mary Harriette Turner (who married 17/2/1849 Yardley, Worcester.
He died 3/8/1889 Kings Norton, late of Brunswick House, Moseley Road, Moseley, Worcs. - Manufacturer. Sole executor was John Turner Wright, the younger, brother.
In 1891 his widow Matilda is with their son Edwin P. born Birmingham 1882.
(Again, details of EPF I gave earlier and this man emigrated to USA 1887 where he was an Attorney at Law. Naturalized in Pennsylvania 13/11/1893 and living there in 1900 - wife Flora S. 34 born Massachusetts and a son Francis D. 4 born Pennsylvania. EPF was born 1863 St. Pancras, son of a Edwin Payton Wright (d.1877) and his second wife Amy Dollman. (Their eldest daughter Amy Beatrice married a Frederick Augustus Lascelles Davidson in India 1883 - their youngest Katherine Horsfall was married to Sir Edmund Arthur Lechmore.)
Amy remarried to a William Storer in 1887 but she petitioned for divorce and they were divorced in 1893 on the grounds of 'Adultery coupled with cruelty'.
