Title: Northamptonshire or Royal Engineers
Post by: Jessyg83 on Friday 22 May 15 21:07 BST (UK)
Could someone help with an arguement please?
My mum believes her dad was in the royal engineers but her nephew says he was always told it was the northamptonshire regiment.
Could someone look at these photos and help me work out which it actually was please?

I would go for Northamptonshire Regiment from the photo showing the cap badge.  Although only part of it can be seen, there is a "gap" at the left edge as photographed which looks very similar to the space between the wreaths on the outside and the castle inside on the Northamptons' badge..  The Sappers' badge does not have a similar gap in that position.

Of course, he may have transferred from one to the other at some time.
