Hi
Trying to help a friend find the last resting place of her Gt. Grandfather, Denis J. Boulger. He was a retired Colour Sgt, possibly in the Royal Irish Regiment, and died on 28 June, 1911 at Linenhall Barracks/Hospital. On the 1911 census he was working as a caretaker and was living in Henrietta Place (Inns Quay, Dublin). She has tried Glasnevin and they have no record of him being buried there.
Regards

Based on dathai’s suggestion I would consider looking at a Kilkenny cemetery; he had children from his first marriage that died in Kilkenny; or a Dublin military one

She was granted outdoor relief of 4/= per week on Aug 9 1911
based on an application from her step mother who was "unable to keep her, having two other step-daughters"
Subsequently Sarah was admitted to the Dublin Workhouse (shown on the in-house relief register)
on Oct 14 1911 from 62 Dominick Street
and discharged to home on Mar 21 1912; however it does not give an address then
She was admitted to the Dublin Workhouse again (shown on the in-house relief register)
on Jan 08 1914 from 8 Shanganagh Road, Drumcondra
and discharged to Cabra Institute (for the Deaf and Dumb) on Jul 11 1916

Link to 1911 census return for Maria Maud BOLGER (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Glasnevin/Shanganagh_Road__Drumcondra/14207/)
She is listed as a niece at 8 Shanganagh Road, Drumcondra
This is the same address as Sarah is listed at before returning to the Workhouse in 1914
In 1901 James Dee BOLGER was with the WALTONs (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Glasnevin/Shangannah_Road/1274003/)
Trying to make the link to these Waltons
I wonder if Mary WALTON was mistranscribed as Mary WALSH
on the death record of James BOLGER in 1888 as I was reading a transcription
This led me to find the marriage in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny on Nov 7 1881
of Patrick WALTON of New St., Kilkenny (F) John
and Mary BOLGER of Castlecomer (F) James
I know your original question was where Denis is buried but hopefully it is with other family members and finding out as much as possible will help with the search
-
I believe that Sarah BOLGER died in 1929 aged 48 and is buried in Glasnevin Cemetery
I cannot however see a civil death record to match
There is a burial of a Patrick WALTON in 1931 aged 72 also in Glasnevin Cemetery with the word Shanganagh in the address - his grave has further burials and extended details; presumably Mary, his wife, is also buried there at least.
I would assume that Sarah is in a different grave as there is only a standard report available for her

Hi guys

I appreciate this post was a long time ago, but Denis Boulger was also my Great Grandfather, Gordon Frederick Taylor who unfortunately died before I was born, married Margaret Boulger in Shanghai, they had 5 children Daphne, Ernie, Dennis, Michael and my father Brian, if your friend would like to contact me I'd love to hear from her. Justin

you could try the churches around where he lived to check there funeral records, or the local council in Dublin.
Seems to be a lot of death's then hard to find the grave?

Hi Justin
My grand mother was Maria Maude Boulger daughter of Denis James Boulder. Your grand mother was Margaret (Cissy) the youngest child of 10 (7 survived childhood) Would love to chat. It was my sister who asked a friend to post the question. Both of us have done a lot of family tree research if it interests you. Not sure how best to get in tough. Patricia
