This is a photo of my maternal grandmother and the only one in existence. The image is very poor and maybe beyond repair but it's all we have.
Many thanks

Cheers,

Many thanks.

I was hoping that some Photoshop wizard would be able to restore the image to as close as possible to it's original monchrome state. Maybe this is not possible in this case.

Hi Pacaine,
This is the best I could do..... The image is lacking a lot of the information needed tow work with :-\

Not the best I'm afraid, but it's about the best I can make out. Also I don't want to resort to drawing in the features and making it up, as you wouldn't be getting a true representation. :-\

Many thanks Sarah and Caz - that's more like what I was hoping for. The original is faded almost to nothing, and increasing the resolution of the scan only seems to add more noise.

Hello
I know you originally posted this a couple of weeks ago but thought I'd have a go at this one too. I've tried to keep it as original as possible and managed to bring back a tiny bit of the detail - I hope I have managed to bring back a little of the 'essence' of you great grandmother at least.

Thanks SMG - I think that's very close to the original. Martha died in 1936 when I was just a toddler so have no memory of what she looked like.
Thanks also to Pablo.
