I am looking for the parents of James Brodie b. abt 1804 in West Lothian d. 10 Dec 1847, Bathgate.
Married Mary Wilson, dau. of William Wilson and Elizabeth Rule, 1823
Children:
William Brodie 1826 – 1871
James Brodie 1826 – 1894
John Brodie 1829 – 1883
Robert Brodie 1831 –
Archibald Brodie 1834 –
Andrew Brodie 1836 – 1862
My grandmother was a Brodie, and I have many Brodies in my tree. I am trying to connect this James to my ancestors. Peter

Ann Brodie, 27 Dec' 1893, 86, old age, Nicol, wife of James.
Archibald Brodie, 27 Jan' 1904,70, senile decay, baker.
Robert Brodie, 1 Oct' 1871, 40, labourer, Dykehead.
Agnes Wilson Brodie, 14 Sep' 1817, 3, lockjaw, f. Robert Stephen Brodie, foundry lab' Langbank.
Armadale & Bathgate websites are both worth a look.

Thanks for the info Skoosh.
I was unaware of these records on-line. Can you please provide a link?
I Googled Bathgate Mortality Records, found a link, but when I tried to access it, they told me it been de-accessed for copyright reasons.
Thanks, Peter

Peter, this is from a book published by the Scottish Genealogy Society, "Bathgate Mortality Records", 1860-1925, ISBN 0-901061-51-4 £7.
Bests,

Again, thanks for this, Skoosh. Approximately how many Brodies are listed in the Bathgate Mortality Records and how much detail for each. I’m wondering whether or not to buy it, especially since my interests lie in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
Regards, Peter

Peter, there are about 40, mostly infant deaths and later than the period you mention.
