I'm looking for a burial for my 2 g grandfather James WOODS who died 13 April 1865.He was from Dernaweel Killashandra. His death was registered in Arvagh Cavan. It has been suggested that there is no Presbyterian Cemetary in Killashandra so the cemetary would be a Church of Ireland .The closest to Killashandra suggested to me was in Killdallon Parish . He may also be buried with his wife Anne who died 1873 & who's death was also registered in Arvagh.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if you have ordered the death certificates? And do Irish death certificates from that time period state the place of burial? Does anyone know. Katharine.

No..there is a Presbyterian church at Klleshandra, a mile from town built when Pres.Churches couldn't be located within a mile of town on Ballinamore Road.. I photographed all hadstones there last Jan..

On http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=234942.9 I posted a link to where DERNAWEEL is, it is only a townland out in the countryside and the vast number of Pres. churches are located near towns so if you just zoom in a bit you'll see the most likely locations

If you look at my first reply to you and look at the link you'll see the name of the church, . Croghan.

Well everything is relative... first of all http://www.leitrimroots.com/research-services/index.html charges €150 for an assessment, positive results cannot be guaranteed and therefore they may be unable to proceed past the initial assessment stage and Cavan probably the same. Then IF they proceed the final charges are on the above website and Cavan is probably the same.

Cavan Presbyterian Group consists of five churches: Bellasis, Cavan town, Drumkeeran, Killeshandra (Croghan) and Carrigallen (Co. Leitrim)...
and you already know there is no g/stone at Croghan!

I don't know of anyone in Cavan but if you go to http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/
and scroll down to bottom there's an email for the Archives Coordinator who might know someone in Cavan...

No problem at all Margaret and good to hear they were useful.. all it needs is more people to take photos at any g/yard anywhere in Ireland, just close-ups of names/dates....

Hi again Hallmark,
I went through all the grave photos on the IGP site and have now found a second family grave for Charles Haughton my gggrandfather who was married to Elizabeth Haughton. They were the parents of john & Mary Jane Wilson (nee Haughton), don't know if this helps your logs.
2 hits in one posting, pretty good. I am in the UK, I an going let my cousin in Australia know as her Mum and Dad are on one of the gravestones.
Thanks again :) :) :)

Very nice.. that is what they are there for...I don't log anything, just nice that someone says thank if they come across a photo of use!
Many don't, and I've seem some of my Monaghan photos on people's trees... if they had even said thanks I could have given them big branches for their trees! Their loss.
Given the names you are after I THINK they are Haughtons of Haughton's Shore on road from Killeshandra to Ballinamore and IF my memory is correct the Arnolds that are there came from Monaghan.. and possibly there are Kellett g/stones in Ballinamore..but this is just from memory!!
