George Bagshaw 9181 2Bn Sherwood Foresters.Died POW 29th August 1916. Buried Hamburg. Looking for information of where he was a prisoner and when was he capturered?

he has PA 6429,6430,6484,6921,7455,11617 and 13907....each of these numbers when entered in the PA search box will direct you to a card pertaining to his imprisonment. :)

Have a look at his POW card (see link given by gortonboy) but that might give you a bit of a insight into him. Here's some info I found.

just clink on the link I posted,,,that is his card,,,scroll down,,,underneath are some more cards,,,on the cards are some notations starting PA THEN SOME NUMBERS.Enter the PA numbers in the search box,,,,each number takes you another card ,,,,you have to scroll about to find them.

Hi, Sorry I dont. He was my Grand Uncle. He married Florence Gilbert in 1916 just before he went overseas. I have looked at document A12707 which I believe has the prison camp that he was in, but I am unable to decipher it.

Just found a number more images regarding him, will send in a few days like the others. None on his imprisonment yet though. From personal experience, family history is always difficult. You have to know where to look. I have a nu,ber of great uncles in the first world war, and researching them isn't easy. You might want to have a look in some of the census' of the time. Trove is a free website you might want to look at, but i think it only consists of Australian material. You will have to persist with your searching. Do you have any accounts on ancestry or any family history researching sites?
