Can anyone advise where the poor relief records for Wigtownshire might be viewed.

HI,
Dumfries library held them and transferred them to Edinburgh. Dumfries rechecked their files and said they are definitely in Edinburgh. I was given the code numbers to ask for but unfortunately I have lost them in my filing system. I hope to be able to return to Edinburgh soon to have a look at the file for John Hamilton d 14 Feb 1887 age 82. Widower of Eliza Jane Evans formerly Jane Smith.
Cheers
Costar

Thank you for that, Costar.

Back tracking in my memory and now found what I was looking for. Pgs 43/4 on this link may help with references...needs to be double checked along the way...
