I need help choosing between two competing parent groups. More experienced members are likely to have a method of deciding which parents are the correct ones.
Thanks to bearkat, I have Ann Bishop chris. 22 Nov 1795 in Faversham, Kent,.
Her parents are Edward Bishop b 1766 and Mary Ann Page b 1768 married in Sheldwich, Kent in 1786. She was born in Sheldwich but Edward could be Faversham or Tenterden.
Edward Bishop could be:-
1. Edward Bishop Chris 9 Feb 1766 Ospringe, Kent. Parents John Bishop and Susanna (Weekes).
OR
2 Edward Bishop chris 4 Feb 1767 Tenterden, Kent.. Parents John Bishop and Mary (?)
I cannot find proof of one or the other so any help would be appreciated. It does not help when Mary Ann becomes Mary and vice verce.

Tenterden MIs are online

There are also some wills
http://wills.canterbury-cathedral.org/
These might help prove (or otherwise) whether he is from the Tenterden branch.

The marriage entry says that Edward was from Faversham, although he may not have originated from there.
Is there a clue from the names of Edward and Mary's children? Both fathers were called John but did they have a daughter called Mary (very common name) or Susanna?

Further research has produced another Edward Bishop b 1757 in Benenden with a wife Ann (Cloake) b 1756 in Stone, with a daughter Ann b 1792 in Tenterden.
I am inclined to accept this Ann b 1792 as the mother of Thomas Bishop b1817 the illegit son of Ann Bishop and Charles Chester from Brookland nearby.
Are there any online images of the original parish records for these areas? I cannot seem to find any.
