Title: Electoral roll etc Newport 1940's

Hi is anyone able to look up addresses in this area for the 1940's please? Trying to pin down addresses family lived at possibly

26 Wharf Road newport 1940 - 1945

23 Glebe street Newport 1940 - 1945

Would really appreciate it if anyone could help

The electoral registers weren't compiled during WW2 as the government had other things on its mind.

Keep your eye on FindMyPast.

They are digitising and transcribing the 1939 register used for compiling identity cards

Hi,I had a look at the Electoral Register for October 1945 this morning and living at 26 Wharf Road were Sydney and Irene Bliss,if it s any help 1939 had Charles William Spicer and Olive Jane Wilks at the same address.I forgot which other street you wanted,but have made a note of it now and will try and check it again this week.

Thank you very much Steve I really appreciate you looking that up for me! Olive is one of my ancestors and we knew this address was in the family at some point and it's where my nana was born :-) so least we know they had left that address by 1945! You are a star

Just to add,1938 26 Wharf Road had william John Adams and Agnes Curley living at that address,just in case it's part of your family.

Ooo don't think so but now we know a definate time period for them living there - my mum is so pleased with the info you have found for us and asked me to pass on her thanks as well :-)
