There's an item + photograph in the Hawick News and Border Chronicle, Fri 6 Jun 1919, entitled "An Interesting Gathering at Flex".
Amongst those named, and one of the four in the photo, is a Mr Elliot - identified as one of the old "Race Committee". I have seen separate reference to a James Elliot, Farmer, Flex sponsoring a race meeting.
On line newspapers available at Find My Past or British Newspaper Archive.
