Hi Schoch,
Many thanks for your reply, however the link I have previously read, but still can't find the birth
of Mary Isabella Kirby and the marriage to Richard Foreaux.
Will keep looking!

Where was she in 1841, does it give any indication as to place of birth
-
rosie,
A tree on ancestry has her as Isabella Doust showing as Doutt in ancestry census records, born about 1760, and born locally to Greenwich from that 1841 census.
It then suggests this one:
Mary Kirby
Baptism Date: 2 Nov 1766
Parish: St Alfege County: Kent Borough: Greenwich
Parent(s): Richard Kirby, Barbara Kirby
Record Type: Baptism Register Type: Parish Register

There does seem to be a marriage between Mary (Isabella) Foveaux in 1797 (Ancestry) and a William Doust.
So the dates might match. Her 1st husband died in 1788 so she returns to the UK with her two children and remarries.
However still no marriage date yet with Richard Foveaux, although a possible date of 1785 is shown on one tree.

Richard Foveaux was baptised at Millbrook, Beds on 11 Mar 1757 the son of Joseph and Elizabeth. Millbrook is a mile from Ampthill.

Mary and Richard had a child that seems to have gone on to be Knighted. Sir Richard Charles Kirby (1851/61 census) which gives his birth as "Belgium".
If his mother Mary was married to Richard Foveaux then I would have thought he would have retained the last name of Foveaux.
There are trees on Ancestry that show both these names, Kirby/Foveaux (unsourced), but various census and his death cert only seem to show Kirby.
Could it be possible that Mary never married Richard ? Being a little suspicious I wonder if residing in Belgium was a ruse to hide her 2 children being born out of wedlock. The birth certificates of her children might be good to get!!!
