I've always searched my ancestors by name and location before, but now I want to search who inhabited a particular house. I know the address - is there any way I can enter this somewhere to check on inhabitants at that address?
-
What dates are you talking about? You can search the census addresses on Find My Past.

I'm interested in all dates from now back to when the house was built. I don't know exactly when the house was built, but I do know it is Grade 2 listed by English Heritage and described as a "17th Century" house. My wife and I are hoping to buy the house and would love to know something about its history...
-
Could you tell us the name of the house, and its exact location please?

If you don't want to disclose the address as that will be your new one, Find My Past have a special offer of £1 for a month's subscription.

Thanks Groom, I'll give that a try. I don't want to tempt providence by giving the address just yet - we may not get the house!

Just seen from your profile you are in Scotland, I presume, as you said it is listed by English Heritage, that the house is in England? I don't think FindMyPast covers Scottish censuses if not.

Well spotted! We're in the process of moving from Scotland to England...
