Looking for information including a birth date for Walter Woodage/Westall
Mother Emily Woodage Father William Westall. Think he was born about 1884 in East Ilsley, Berk.
If anyone has anything on him it would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance

The birth certificate would give birth date
Possibly
March qtr 1884
Woodage Walter
Wantage 2c 311

Thanks Rosie, I'll keep searching :)
-
The baptism transcript does not give a date of birth
-
My apologies but I'm not sure why you appear to he dismissing rosie99's suggestion of Walter Woodage registered in Wantage in March quarter 1884. You intimate that Walter came from East Ilsley, and East Ilsley is in the Wantage Registration District. The transcript of the baptism states that Walter is the son of Emily Woodage and was baptised in East Ilsley in 1884. Not sure what further confirmation you think can be obtained - other than purchasing the birth certificate. :-\

Thanks Bumbleb, i wasn't aware that it was in the Wantage Registration district:) I was referring generally to keep searching as I have little information about him. I really do appreciate Rosie's reply to my post.
:) :)

Not sure if you've got the baptism date - 6 April 1884.

William Westall - 30 - Ag Lab

There is a transcribed baptism entry for William Westall at East Ilsley on 18 April 1859, son of William (Labourer) and Maria. He does appear to keep changing his age - he was 24 when he married Emily in 1884, then aged 30 in 1891 ;D

Thanks Bumbleb, no I dont have the baptism date but it would match up with what I have on his birth being March 1884. Yes I do have a note about the 1891 census.
Kind regards :)

Brother Francis William Westall was also baptised at East Ilsley - 14 February 1886 - William (Labourer) and Emily.

Great Bumbleb, I'll add that. I haven't managed to find him in the 1901 census under either name.

Sister Jessie Maria was baptised 11 January 1890 at Bradfield - needs confirmation as the entry is from Family Search.
Brother James marries Mary Ann James at Trinity Church, Leytonstone on 5 January 1908. Has a very short service record - 55 days - discharged as medically unfit October 1914 - his record is available on Ancestry.
Brother Francis is shown as being in the 13th Hussars in 1911. He appears on the Silver War Badge records as serving 15 February 1908-7 March 1919. Regimental Number 2177.

Excellent, thankyou Bumbleb!
-
The year 1890 for Jessie M sounds right as that is what i have, also in bradfield.
-
I'm sure it is correct - I just have a personal distrust of Family Search entries, mainly because they are very often not complete, and in some instances totally incorrect. :-X :-X

No thats fair enough, often leads you on a complete different path. I think your right though. She is listed in the 1911 census in sussex birth 1890 in bradfield. this also came up as a hint in ancestry so think we are on the right track
Possible death, from (UKcensusonline) 1954 in sussex ???
