This one could be quite easy or not... :P
Thank you for looking!

I'm guessing Scotland again - for no particular reason other than the look of the place. ;D ;D
-
It's probably at the bottom of the ocean by now due to global warming, but here's hoping it's still standing.
Can we narrow it down just a smidge Wiggy? ;D ;D ;D
-
Well - I don't think it is Dunrobin Castle - so you can cross that off the list!
'course, it could be English what with the squarish towers!! Or Irish - Or Welsh! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Ah let's face it - I'm just guessing in the dark.
-
Any advance on Europe? ;D ;D ;D
I've got to get lucky sooner or later. I was amazed when Rootschatter Still Looking was able to name some castle ruins, so you never know. If not, it's fun trying to find them!

I think it might be Spain;

Just a thought,

Looks like Ackergill tower in Caithness, but not sure.
-
That castle wall is a good half mile long - and maybe then some.
Certainly not Scotland, and I don't know of anywhere vaguely like this in the British Isles.
The seaward bits look a bit concrete-y. Maybe WWII additions.

Looking like another needle in a haystack. :(
Thanks to Joe, Firthview and Hibee for your input. Nice to know there are so many eyes on the case! ;D
I'll keep trolling through tomorrow. Who knew their were so many castle and stately homes still in existence???

I too wondered about WWII fortifications, with all that concrete around.

Which would make it more likely the continent? Haven't had a chance to scroll any more sites, but not giving up!

Caz
Would it??
-
That's my question to you ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well I would think so, not that I know every square inch of the UK's coastline of course, but I don't think it's the south coast of the UK.
More than happy to be proven wrong! ;D
-
Interesting...I did a google search for a visually similar image and the hits were all warships! Long, low and horizontal with a craggy thing sticking up in the middle ;D
-
Yeah me too China and I got ships at sea and not a castle in site ::)

Bringing this back up as people have expressed further interest.

I've not found a great match for the photo but I think this may be Thurso castle. Photos of it in a ruined state seem to show the same side and wall, older photos taken from the landward side show the frontage reflecting the details visible from the side.
What do others think?

In the words of the immortal Victor Mildrew "I don't believe it!" :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D How on earth did you ever find it!
I was floored when you identified the first ruin, but this is just amazing!
Unbelieveable Still_Looking, and what an appropriate Rootschat name you have! ;D ;D ;D
Another legend! Thank you so very much! :) :) :) :)

They are Jools! In just a couple of days, we've gone from two out of six to five out of six identified and that doesn't include the amazing side identification by Mosiefish of the wing at Burham Beeches! ;D

No doubt is there! ;D ;D Very brilliant SL! ;D ;D
Thanks for posting this Mo, saves me tearing my hair out again! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Only sad thing of course is how much it has deteriorated and become nothing more than a ruin. :(

Thanks folks.
It was found when I decided to look for one of the others. I'd encountered Ackergill before which has some vague similarities but had never noticed anything else in Caithness. Decided to narrow the search to Caithness and hey presto there it was.
The less said about several days before that of going round the coastline of Scotland, England, Wales etc. On google maps the better!
