Hello
I am looking for information for my husband regarding Anne Platts. We have copy of her Australian death certificate and it states that she was born in County Wicklow Ireland about 1829. Anne died on the 19th November 1910 at Paradise South Australia. From other information, Anne arrived in South Australia (where we live) with her Uncle Mr Platts (no other name known) on the ship Trafalgar on the 30th March 1850. She married Charles John Bertram on the 17th November 1854 at Norwood South Australia. Their daughter Louisa Tannebring (nee Bertram) being my husband's great grandmother.
We are interested in any information regarding Anne's birth and parents, grandparents, siblings etc if available.
Thanking you
Regards

On rootsireland.ie (pay site) there is just one baptismal record for a Ann Platt 16 Aug 1825 Parents Jonathon Platt and Judy Goggins. It may not be the correct ann Platt but it is likely as Platt is a fairly rare name.
You can get a month's subscription for €25 and you may find some other information re Platt family.

Their home address was given as BALLINACOR
On the 1901 census there was a Christopher PLAT living in this townland (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Wicklow/Rathdrum/Meetings/1816396/) in Ballinacor
On the 1901 census Thomas’s widow Catherine was living with two of her children (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Wicklow/Rathdrum/Fairgreen/1816451/) in Fairgreen, Rathdrum
They are the only PLAT/PLATTs listed in Wicklow in 1901
By 1911 only James and Julia are listed in Wicklow (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/results.jsp?searchMoreVisible=&census_year=1911&surname=platt&firstname=&county19011911=Wicklow&county1821=&county1831=&county1841=&county1851=&parish=&ward=&barony=&townland=&houseNumber=&ded=&age=&sex=&search=Search&ageInMonths=&relationToHead=&religion=&education=&occupation=&marriageStatus=&yearsMarried=&birthplace=&nativeCountry=&language=&deafdumb=&causeOfDeath=&yearOfDeath=&familiesNumber=&malesNumber=&femalesNumber=&maleServNumber=&femaleServNumber=&estChurchNumber=&romanCatNumber=&presbNumber=&protNumber=&marriageYears=&childrenBorn=&childrenLiving=#searchmore)
If you search the Griffiths Valuations of the mid 1800s there is only one PLATT listed c1854 – named Jonathan (http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&familyname=platt&firstname=&baronyname=&countyname=WICKLOW&unionname=&parishname=&Submit.x=40&Submit.y=8)
I cannot see a church record of a marriage for Jonathan PLATT and Judith GOGGINS but you are back at a point of "hit and miss" records if you do not have a specific parish to refer to
Hope this helps a little

Another way to approach this could be to look at Australia
There is a death on Jul 20 1891 of a Luke PLATTS aged 61 (=> bc1830)
in Parkside South Australia
This could be the relative she travelled to
The Anne's birth located in Wicklow had a brother Luke
