John owned Union Hat Mills at 89 Amess St Nth Carlton with a couple of brothers, I think Harry and Arthur.
I have a census in 1909 living at 33 McIlwraith St Nth Carlton.
Any info on his children and their spouses and families would be greatly appreciated.
Also any info on the hat mills would be wonderful. I have several articles from Trove regarding the mills, hopefully some photos of the Langleys and/or the mills??
John's son Ernest CharlesLANGLEY is my grandfather and I have some info on him. I have received help from rolnora and sparrat. I also have a tree on ancestry... Bruce, Bullock, Bonnitcha.
Thanking you in advance for any help

HI Christine,
Henry/Harry Langley had a son, also Harry Warren Langley .. and im pretty sure he was also a hatter and worked for Union Hats
I dont have many pictures .. I do have one of Henry/Harry (My GGG GF) - mum tells a story how he was possibly an orphan found on the door step (a story she heard from her mother JEan Langley Mackenzie) .. So if thats the truth - He isnt really a blood line langley - but finding that info out will be hard.
If you have an email address i can send you a few things - which might help your search?
ALSO - im awaiting results from a DNA test so im hoping to get some hits with that (fingers crossed!)

Hi Christine
Ok further digging and POSSIBLY Alice Langley is buried down the road from me at Randwick council cemetery.
I’m not 100% certain which Alice though, as going off listings Ernest Langley married an Alice had a few kids, hopped on a boat to AUS, then had a few more (that sound correct?)... it seems they had a child Ernest - who also married an Alice (another Alice Langley)
The cemetery only has paper records which you have to call up for - and is extremely painful in searching as it’s old, graves dilapidated and the map requires some sort of degree to locate anything (over 1 hour with the location area and number written down and I couldn’t find Harry Langley - Son of Henry Langley b1858. So Harry Langley would be Ernest snr nephew, and Ernest jnr 1st cousin.
I’m gonna try get down there again this weekend to find and take pics.. I’ll call the cemetery and try and get all the Langley records and go for a wander ...
