Title: Extract pictures from pdf and save as different type?
Post by: Lisajb on Tuesday 24 February 15 16:11 GMT (UK)
Some time ago I was sent a pdf containing some family photographs.

Can some kind soul advise if it is possible to extract these pictures and save as a type that Ancestry will accept into my tree, such as .jpg .jpeg .png .gif .tiff .bmp.

I can extract them individually from the pdf and paste into word, but that doesn't help - it gives me various options to save as but none of the above!

thanks
Lisa

You could use the snipping tool in Windows.  Just open the pdf and then use the shipping tool to highlight the image then save it as a .jpg file.

You can also get free pdf to jpeg convertors that might give you a higher resolution. Paid up Adobe software include a SAVE AS that includes a convertor.
