Title: Starr goes missing
Post by: Brie on Sunday 22 February 15 10:28 GMT (UK)
Hello all,

A Sunday morning challenge  :)

I am trying to find Harriet Starr in the 1871 census.
her birth is registered Basford 1858
1861 can be found at RG9 2439 12 19
but I can't find her in 1871. There is another Harriet Starr, close in age, born Wollaton but she is the proverbial red herring.

Thankyou
Brie

And Larkspur, thankyou as well - I'm feeling a little stupid, should have thought of two ts though I did try quite a few name variations.

Cheers

Larkspur,

For some reason only the census part of your answer came up at first or I am really losing the plot.

I would love the baptism details when you have time.

Thanks again
Brie

I think this is Harriet in 1881 with William. Was William a widower when he married Harriet?

Hello again Betty,

I believe he was a widower and that Harriet was his second wife if I have remembered it correctly and that is the correct family. Thankyou.

I am now struggling to find Harriet's father in the 1861 census. Harriet is with her mother and siblings, reference above but William b c 1821 is elsewhere. I have been looking for all Williams born that date in Greasley in case Starr has been mistranscribed and other ruses but so far to no avail.

Cheers
Brie

Death registered at Basford Sept 1878 Sarah Bolstridge aged 54 7b/83
No burial for her on my index.
No marriage for them either.
The only possible William  and Sarah marriage coming up on Freereg is at Foleshill, Warwks in 1845.

Larkspur and Betty,

Thankyou very much for these. I'll look at them this evening after work. I can't tell immediately how they all fit - they are a friend's family so I'm not au fait with them - however, they look very good at first glance.

Cheers
