Thanks Audrey.  Do you know what Civil Registration means?  Wasn't registered in a church perhaps?

Hi Terry,

The query to which Audrey posted a reply appears to have vanished unless it's related to one of these links ...

Beaumont or Bowman from Kilmood (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,66115.msg1129109.html#msg1129109)
Searching for McCullough in Belfast (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,59028.msg236599.html#msg236599)

Thanks Audrey.  Do you know what Civil Registration means?  Wasn't registered in a church perhaps?

Terry

Civil Registration is explained in an article titled "Civil Records - Birth, Marriage and Death registration" on the 'From Ireland' © website of Dr Jane Lyons of Dublin.

Terry- 'civil registraion' mean the information would have been taken from the birth certificate. Church baptismal records are entirely separate from civil certificates. If a baptism took place it would be in the records of teh individual church (if they still exist).
