Looking for the parents of Charles Hawkins who married Rachel Bougourd 1851 possibly in Crediton Devonshire?? Any help would be appreciated.
Looking at FreeBMD, I cannot see a Charles Hawkins marrying any Rachel in 1851 anywhere in England & Wales ???
What is the source of your information, please?

I Have marriage certificate of John Hawkins who married Eliza Hart 1875, father listed as Charles.
Charles either married Rachel Bougourd in Guernsey 1851 or that's where Rachel is from??
-
Bougourd does appear to be a Guernsey name?
As Guernsey is not a part of the UK, you might have to look there for answers.

Hello,
Here is a Charles baptised in Devon https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N59G-JF2
Where do you have him as born Crediton?

I was told Mathew could possibly be Charles father, no mothers name was mentioned so I'm stuck.
There's so many Hawkins from Devonshire, not sure I'm on the right trail :-\

John Hawkins listed M 16 can't be Charles son, dates don't match up :-\
Where abouts is Oslick located???
-
Have a look and see what you make of it! ;D
-
Wow :o No luck, hard to make out :-\
-
Maybe Charles had a brother John, could it possibly be 25 instead of 16?? I would only be guessing at this point. Thank you for all your help.

There is this one in 1871. I think I saw him referred to in published trees but couldn't find him at first.
He is transcribed as born Leicestershire but it could be Devonshire

We have 5 generations of printers in the family. John Hawkins was a printer, so this must be the family I'm trying to trace. I wonder why a Rachel died at 35 years?? Charles was married twice interesting.
-
The nephew William Stone b Woolwich may be the one in 1861 239/28/6 with parents William and Elizabeth both born Devon.
There are three Elizabeths as possible spouses here but one is Hawkins. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2DQS-7SR

Trees on Ancestry have Elizabeth and Charles as siblings and Elizabeth marrying William Stone 1851

Trees on Ancestry have Elizabeth and Charles as siblings and Elizabeth marrying William Stone 1851
:) That could be good if they are correct. I have seen a tree which has Charles marrying Ann Hammond ??? I can't see that marriage.
There is an Ann Bush in 1861 who fits well for Ann Hawkins of 1871.

Another tree gives Ann Hammond / Bush as aged 40 odd when she married , so maybe Bush was married name , gives her year of birth c 1823,
1901 census has Charles and Ann aged 80 and 82 respectively living in South Mimms

You're right- she's a widow. I didn't check it out, just noted the index.
It all seems to be coming together.
That marriage certificate would confirm Charles' father's name.
