Looking for details on emigration of John Jenner in "Emigrants from Tenterden District" in the Kent Family History Journal, Vol. 4:5, Dec 1984, pp. 177-178. He arrived in New York in 1828.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Rootschat Pattih.
Have you tried Kent Family History Society? They must hold back issues of their journal in their library, as you have the full details of year, number and pages, it would be simple for them to do a look up for you.

Thank-you! This is not our John, but I have seen some of this record before and wondered if the two Johns might be cousins. Mine was born 1799-1800 and emigrated to Canada between 1828 and 1831. Every little piece of the puzzle helps!

I've taken a look at that article you refer to in the KFHJ. I'm afraid it doesn't give much information, other than the list of the members of his party from Tenterden and that they sailed from Liverpool.
John Jenner appears to be travelling on his own. His party consisted of;
Henry Fuggle wife and 5 children
Jer. Timson wife and 6 children
Richard Coleman wife and 10 children
George Neve wife and 6 children
John Jenner
A total of 5 men, 4 wives, 27 children = 36
The accounts include this piece for transport to Liverpool;
John Longley Conveying passengers to London £16
Pickfords June 23 1828
Lon to Liverpool
18 passengers 16/-
16 children 8/-

Thank-you very much for your reply. Although this doesn't seem to provide any connections, at least I know I can cross it off the list now. I do appreciate your taking the time.

There are some other names from the Tenterden area in the article, a separate party who left for New York from Rye, aboard the brig "William" in the same year;
Per the brig "WILLIAM" Rye to New York
John Polhill
Isaac Catt
Stephen Pott
James Tonkin
Thomas Hook
Mrs. Hook
and two other Hooks
George Hopper
Mary Chaxfield
Samuel ditto (boy)
Joseph Catt
George Chaxfield
James West
William West
John West
John Watkin or Wickens
Mrs ditto ditto
Michael Ro ?
William Butcher
A total of 16 men, 3 women, 1 boy = 20
Perhaps there are some connections for you in that list?

Nothing familiar here, either. Again, I do appreciate your effort.
