I'm just posting these while I have the time sorry if it looks like I'm being greedy, but as I said, not a priority.

This is the back. I find this one interesting because the children (to me anyway) look like a boy and a girl but are dressed identically.

Do you think this lady has the look of the lady in the Vanderbilt photo Caz ??

I've just looked at this pic using a magnifying glass and there is a postage mark near the little girls leg and it looks like it reads London MAR(??) 26 12
So possibly 1912 - anyone concur?
-
Comparing them side by side, same hairstyle but different facial features.
-
Looking at the man's collar my guess it could have been from 1905 up to the war years...so yes...Maybe I'm being fanciful but I thought they looked like they could be related ::)

I was looking at Lander, Shanklin photographers and it appeared to be a family profession stretching from Victorian times to just before the second world war, so unable to date from that research.
-
Sitting here with my magnifying glass like Inspector Clouseau, ::) ::) ;D ;D I don't think they are related.
Pretty sure that's what the post imprint says ie 12 as in 1912 - I hope I so anyway!
-
Thanks Jeff, you've saved me going done that route for nothing. Much appreciated. :) :)
I'll scan just the area by the little girls leg and see if I can get the imprint visible (I can only see it by tilting the photo).
-
You'll have to tilt the scanner then ;D ;D ;D
-
I'm wondering why there would be a postmark when there is no message written on the back and no postage stamp Caz?

I know it's weird. If you look on the one posted, you can just see parts of the circle of the post mark near her legs. And why would they stamp the front and not the back??
-
I couldn't get it to show up with the scanner, so I took a photo with my phone...

That has to be the date, what a stroke of luck! :D :D :D I would not have noticed that in the day time...

Hippy :) :) :)

That's so pretty and delicate, again you've done a wonderful job Hippy! So very much appreciated! :-* :-*

1912-1915 if the lady's up to date, and if that's a postmark of 1912 she's right on the cutting edge, so to speak, of hairstyle fashion :) Very tight date window.
Lander seems to have been a photographer in Shanklin, Isle of Wight.
Another beauty, Caz. I love the man's face, he looks like he has a sense of humour :)
Cheers,

It is lovely isn't it. Thanks for the confirmation, so good to have a narrow dateline.
